St Luke's Church buildng lends itself to Community Activities, (now that the pews have been removed!)
Community Spirit is the name that we have given to our project to make the interior of St Luke’s Church fit for community use. The pictures at the bottom of this page give some idea of the wonderful space we now have for special events as well as for regular worship.
We are now raising funds to purchase another 75 comfortable stacking and interlocking chairs to reach our target. We are inviting you to purchase one or more chairs for the church for £100 each chair.
One good suggestion is to donate a chair in memory of a loved one. The chair can have a discreet inscription attached to the book box on the back
But it is not necessary to have someone to donate the chair in memory of. You can donate one or more chairs just to support present and future generations who want to enjoy sitting comfortably in St Luke’s Church!
See "Donate" page for information about how to donate to St Luke's. If you wish to donate a chair in memory of a loved one, please make sure you tell us their name and dates of birth and death.
St Mary’s Church building does not lend itself so well to community use. But we do have a modern and comfortable Meeting Room, which can be hired out. Our main community/social activities include a Baby and Toddler Group that meets every Thursday during term time; and Arts and Crafts Group (SMArts) which meets every Tuesday afternoon; and the Riddlesden Green Connection Community Café that takes place on the second Saturday morning of each month. You will find details of these on the relevant pages of this website.
